PRESENTED BY MORTON'S BMW MOTORCYCLES

May 1-2, 2009

Ruckersville & Charlottesville, Virginia

In 2008, we brought you XPLOR Blue Ridge for the first time. This year, we're back with a somewhat smaller event -- you might have heard something about the economy -- but we haven't scaled back the fun.

It all starts Friday afternoon, May 1, at the Best Western in Ruckersville, Virginia, the same hotel we used last year. On Friday, we'll have rider check-in and orientation, you'll get your swag bag, and we'll have a special session on setting up your suspension for off-road riding. This is a critical element to getting the best performance in the dirt, and many people don't really understand it. Our instructors will reveal the mysteries of sag and suspension tuning and get you ready for the next day's fun.

On Saturday, we'll enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel (for hotel guests only), then saddle up for a ride to the farm and your training session. At the farm, we'll join Jack O'Connor, Chris Grimm (seen below), and Bob Converse -- all veteran off-road racers and instructors -- for a series of drills and exercises to ramp up your skill level.

Around noon, we'll dust ourselves off, ride to Grand Junction (the same lunch spot as last year), and enjoy a box lunch, courtesy of Morton's BMW.

Then it's back to the farm for more training, riding, XPLORing, and more!

We'll finish up around 5 pm on Saturday, early enough for you to head home or, if you prefer, relax at the hotel for another night and find your own adventure ride home the next day. We'll even help with some suggested routes. But don't leave until we give out some well-deserved awards at day's end!

Now here are the details you need to get involved:

1) You MUST be on a GS-style BMW (R series GS, G650GS, G650X Challenge or Country, F650GS, F800GS, or G450X). Street-legal knobbies (Metzeler Karoos, Continental TKC80s, etc.) are required.

2) You MUST wear full riding gear -- helmet, jacket, pants, boots, gloves -- at all times while riding in this event. Armored/padded riding gear is required; motorcycle body armor is strongly suggested. Safety is our highest priority.

3) You must pre-register, either in person at Morton's BMW, mailing a check for the full registration amount, or phoning in with a credit card for payment.

4) Cost is $XXX per person. If you register and pay your fee, and then have to drop out, we will attempt to fill your spot. If we can fill your spot, your payment will be refunded; if we cannot fill your spot, your payment will not be refunded.

5) Entry is limited to thirty (30) riders.

6) Hotel reservations are the responsibility of the participant. We have negotiated a special room rate with the Best Western, so be sure you mention the XPLOR event to get the negotiated rate.

Best Western Charlottesville Airport Inn & Suites, 5920 Seminole Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968 (434) 985-1855

7) You must sign a waiver/release form before participating in the event.

8) You should plan on arriving at the hotel by 5 pm Friday, April 24. This will give you time to check into your room (if applicable), register, and participate in the suspension adjustment session.

9) You are expected to have fun!

We'll be posting more details soon, so stay tuned!
