BMW hits the drag strip!

Morton's BMW is once again expanding its racing efforts, this time teaming up with rider Domonic Anderson of Richmond, Virginia, to take the S 1000 RR drag racing!

Anderson has plenty of experience racing Suzukis, but he wanted something different for 2010. So far, it's gone well, with Domonic getting the S 1000 RR down to a 9.13 1/4 mile, incredible for a stock wheelbase bike! Before AMA Pro Drag Racing shut down, Domonic ran as high as the semifinals of a national meet.

Now that he's added the extended swingarm, he's down in the 8.9 second range, going as low as 8.893. Running in the Mirock series, Domonic has reached the quarterfinals in Pro ET and reached the final three pairs in Crazy 8s.

Here's a review of the S 1000 RR by Brock Davidson, a very prominent figure in the motorcycle drag racing community.

All of us at Morton's BMW are happy to play a role in BMW's proud tradition of motor racing. Since its beginnings in the early 20th century, BMW has been at the forefront of competition, whether two-wheeled or four-wheeled.

For us, this tradition continues with Nate Kern and Dominick Anderson and the new BMW S 1000 RR superbike. While BMW AG races in World Superbike, we'll be sponsoring these two riders in road racing and drag racing.
