What a Great Party!

All of us want to thank the more than 600 of you who came out for our epic 2010 Oktoberfest celebration!

Again this year, we had a great crowd, and it seemed like most of you had a really good time. We had full demo rides every time, and our vendors reported good sales and lots of interest. And the weather could not have been better!

We were happy to welcome Denise Maple, founder of VaVaVroom, an online merchant selling her very cool selection of garments and accessories aimed at women riders. This was Denise's first time with us, and we hope she'll become a regular!

Other vendors included reps from Gerbing's Heated Clothing, Scala Rider, Arai helmets, Scorpion Helmets, SIDI, Olympia Motor Sports, Western Power Sports, and Show Your Spirit Jewelry.

(Top left) As always, our open house drew a large crowd on all sorts of motorcycles.

Demo riders (top right) head out for their journey through the neighboring countryside.

Morton's certified master technician Dewey Keeton (right) demonstrated his mastery in another field -- face painting -- with a face-covering bat and, above, a fire-breathing dragon.

Vendor row (clockwise from below) included our own tent full of Gerbing's Heated Clothing.

Denise Maple of VaVaVroom chatted with customers about her exclusive clothing designs.

One owner of an F 650 twin decided to apply "truth in advertising" stabndards to the bike's decals.

Winners of the smaller door prizes picked up their items at the registration table.

Morton's salesman Don Graling (above left) talked GS with a customer while others looked through the pre-owned bike tent (above).

While members of the BMW Bikers of Metropolitan Washington (below) recruited, Cindy Seay and her son Thomas (left) chatted with Philip Surles, a member of road racing champion Nate Kern's pit crew, who was on hand to show off Nate's S 1000 RR race bikes. If not for knee surgery just a few days before the open house, Nate, whom Morton's BMW sponsors, would have been here himself.

Dealer principal Jeff Massey (left) addressed the crowd as the award ceremony began.

Among those being recognized was Art Crow (below left), who has catered Morton's open houses as far back as we can remember. Oktoberfest 2010 was most likely his last event with us as he scales back his work.

Luis Diaz-Diaz (below right) beamed with joy as he received the grand prize, a $500 leather BMW S 1000 RR jacket. To say he was happy is to commit an understatement of very large proportions!
