David White was off like a shot at the start of the Race for Vision on Sunday, June 14, in King George. On a hot day and on a brutal course, David led early then fell back when anothr rider crashed in front of him, blocking his path. He fought back to capture third place, for his second podium in as many weeks. The Virginia Hare Scrambles folks will now take a break until August 16. Come August, we'll be back in the hunt for another championship for David and for Morton's BMW. |

David White took first place in the Tidewater 100 Senior A division on Sunday, June 7 at Ivor, Virginia. After a tough start, David took the lead on lap 2, then battled with points leader Eric Hytinen all the way to the end. Hytinen led laps 3 and 4, then David regained the lead and finished a commanding 26 seconds ahead of Hytinen. This was our first win of the season, and looks to be BMW's first win ever in Virginia Hare Scrambles competition. For all the race details, go to http://vchss.org. |

Nate Kern (top) rode his Morton's BMW-sponsored R1200S to a very close second in CCS ThunderBike and third in Michelin Pro ThunderBike. Steve Kennedy guided his F800ST to fourth place in Lightweight SuperSport, and fifth place in both Lightweight GP and Lightweight SuperBike competition. Nate also took time to honor wounded veterans of the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan on Sunday. A group of them was transported from Walter Reed Army Medical Center to watch the races, and Nate and the Morton's crew spent time with them during the Sunday raceing. |

David White, a seven-time hare scrambles champion in Virginia, continues his efforts aboard the Morton's BMW G450X in the Virginia Championship Hare Scrambles series. In the May 3 race near Martinsville, he slogged his way to an eighth place finish. While leading the race, he impacted a tree and went down, re-injuring his back. He managed to bring it home on a tough, wet, muddy day.

David White had another challenging day of hare scrambles on Sunday, April 19. He quickly made his way to the front of the pack, and was leading the race by about ten seconds when he ran out of fuel on the last lap. A disappointing finish to be sure, but we're confident that, once we get a few kinks worked out, we'll be seeing him on the podium. Check back for more info on a group ride to the event, or get event details HERE. |

David White debuted the G450X against a large field of competitors at Oak Ridge Estates in Arrington, Virginia. In the first lap, he moved from near the back of the pack in his class to second place, and held that position until injuring his back on a jump. The bike performed well, and he had a good chance of victory, so we'll remain hopeful for the next race on April 19.

Customers came by from noon to 5 pm to taste a half dozen chili recipes prepared by our our staff. After sampling the concoctions, votes were cast for the favorite dish. Winning by just one vote was Apparel Specialist Patricia Verden with her chicken chili. Service Advisor and Certified Technician Jan Callahan was a close second with her version of a chili her husband makes. Congrats to both, and thanks to all who cooked, ate, cleaned up, and just enjoyed the day! |

Our final track day for 2007 was a huge success, as about 40 Morton's BMW riders filled the track at Virginia International Raceway for training with Team Pro-Motion and Nate Kern. The weather was perfect, the track was superb, and a very good time was had by all. For just $225, riders experienced a full day or fun, including track school, lunch, a free gift from Morton's BMW, and expert teachers, including our own Stuart Beatson, Team Pro-Motion, and Nate! |

Morton's BMW Motorcycles provided the bike and the location for a model's photo shoot recently. Photographer Bill Brittain, model Carrie Miller, and stylist Jasmine Ibrahim fought off bitter cold to collaborate on a series of portfolio shots. We were happy to provide a bright yellow K1200R and a bit of our parking lot for the project. Photo © 2007 Brittain Photo Graphics |

| Dozens of riders and fans showed up on Saturday, July 1, to meet racing legend Reg Pridmore. Reg, who rode the legendary R90S to the AMA Superbike title in 1976 (one of his three such titles), kept people entertained with stories of his many racing successes, his CLASS riding school, and performance riding in general. On display were a pair of Hondas Reg uses in his sessions, a CBR1000RR and a CBR600RR, both set up beautifully for track use. |

Despite almost constant rain, some 100 or so hardy souls made it to the Blue Grass Book Bank benefit campout in Blue Grass, Virginia. They were treated to good camaraderie, excellent music, and some rather damp memories to embellish and share.
It's not always this rainy... |

October 15 was a spectacular day of fun for the whole family!Between 650 and 700 riders of all types of bikes showed up for the 2005 Oktoberfest at Morton's BMW Motorcycles. On a perfect fall day, they enjoyed free German luncheon, live music, incredible door prizes, discounts on everything in the house, vendors, a book signing, and much more! Given the number of people who show, maybe we should stop calling these open houses and call them what they are -- BMW rallies! If you were here, you understand; if not, you missed a heck of a party!

| In October 2005, the staff of Morton's BMW plus some family and friends made a luncheon journey to Peaks of Otter Lodge on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The ride was our way of honoring Graham Jackson Fling, one of our motorcycle technicians, who passed away too soon in September. Graham's wife Linda joined us for what turned out to be a cool, foggy, and then rainy 300+ mile ride, but we all enjoyed the trip and the camaraderie. |

| Front row: Steve Anderson, Stuart Beatson, Sandra Beatson, Gerri Schilling. Middle row: Jeff Dunkle, Scott Arnold, Linda Fling, Kristine Keesecker, Andrew Beale, Kenn Keesecker. Back row: Jeff Massey, Carrie Seabrook, Sabrina Kulynych, Hannah Massey, Elyce Wieland, Stephanie Acheson, Pat Crawley. |

| It was a partly sunny, but rain-free, Sunday when 28 of us went on a 140+ mile ride through the rolling Piedmont of central Virginia. Starting at Morton's BMW, we headed southwest to Louisa, then north to Madison, where we stopped for a BBQ lunch at the Pig & Steak. After lunch, we rolled north to Sperryville, then east to Flint Hill and environs, before turning south to Bealeton and the Flying Circus. |
